Revelstoke Area Update
Hi,
Has anyone visited the backcountry around Revy in/out if the park? Are the alders covered yet?
Kevin
We were out a few times over the last week a little south of Revelstoke (more around Nakusp). We were skiing cut blocks - one was around 1800 m and has about 5 feet of snow now and the other was a little lower, maybe 1200 m and was less than 4 feet of snow. There was plenty of anchoring stumps on both blocks, but we noticed one good whumpf after landing a 10 foot drop and on the lower block we dug a pit and found the snow to move relatively easily at ground level although we were confident nothing would actually slide due to the anchoring terrain.
No alders showing, but I don't think there were any underneath either. The higher block was great and I would ski it anyday. The lower one needed more snow.
