    • Arc’teryx Kopec GTX Shoe

    Arc’teryx Kopec GTX Shoe

Arc’teryx has come out with the Kopec GTX Shoe. This comes in both a shoe and mid-boat model. We have a pair of the men’s shoe model that we will be doing a more detailed review on later this year.

In the meantime, we thought it was worthy enough to include in our Holiday Gift Guide. The Kopec GTX has a nice combination of being light at 312 g, but it also feels like a very sturdy hiking shoe.

The sole is made up of a dual-density midsole with reinforced high-wear zones and Vibram Megagrip outsole. This all adds up to a very firm sole that can handle miles and miles of mountain trails. The lug pattern could be a little more aggressive, but it will provide lots of grip through different mountain terrain.

One thing that I liked right away putting the shoe on is the extended U-throat construction. Although this was designed to provided better breathability, I also found it does a good job of providing even pressure through out the outlets when lacing the shoe up.

The Kopec upper material is made from waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX fabric and a durable CORDURA mesh upper that is light, breathable and quick-drying, which all lend themselves to a very comfortable and durable hiking shoe.
