2 Good News Items From Patagonia
No, I'm not talking about the impeachment...Remember a while back when we shared info about Patagonia's matching program? We'll the numbers are in and they are big. Through the Patagonia Action Works program, 1,043 grassroots environmental organizations received donations of $10 million in 17 days. And then Patagonia matched it. BAM. That's right, they contributed $10 million as a company. Once again, putting their corporate money where their mouths are and making a real difference to grassroots environmental organizations. Wow!Patagonia has also teamed up Awayco in its Denver store for a new apparel rental program. We've shared info on Awayco before--it's a good idea and great for travellers who don't want to carry kit from A to B. Skiers and riders can select the Patagonia apparel they want on Awayco dot com and pick it up for rental at the flagship Denver Patagonia store (2600 Walnut Street) Easy peasy—and a great way to take advantage of high- end "pre-loved" gear (and lessen the chances of having to check bags if you are travelling!)
