NEW Garmin Fenix 6X - Video
Garmin released a new line of multisport GPS watches with wrist-based heart rate and Pulse OX sensors in the fall of 2019 as an update to their 5X line. This new line is called,… you guessed it, the 6X series of watches.
We got a closer look at the new Garmin Fenix 6X series of watches at the recent Winter Outdoor Retailer show in Denver Colorado where we shot this video, check it out:
There are four versions to choose from, the Fenix 6, Fenix 6X, Fenix 6X Pro and Fenix 6X Pro Solar. All of these new watches have GPS, Barometer, altimeter, Compass, Accelerometer, thermometer, Pulse OX, Gyroscope, Bluetooth connectivity to your smartphone, step counter, and many more features that would take far to long to list.
The base model is the Fenix 6 which features a 260 x 260 pixel colour displays with 64MB of memory and a water rating of 10 ATM. It retails for $819.99CAN / $599.99US and weigh 80 grams.
The Fenix 6S is smaller than the Fenix 6 and designed for women or those with smaller wrists. It is 42x42x13.8mm in size compared to the larger Fenix 6X Pro versions which is 51x51x14.9mm. The Fenix 6S has a 240 x 240 pixel colour displays with 64MB of memory and a water rating of 10 ATM. It will retail for $819CAN / $599.99US and weigh 58 grams.
The Fenix 6X Pro has a 280 x 280 pixel colour displays with 32GB of memory and a water rating of 10 ATM. It retails for $1,029.99 / $749.99US and weigh 93 grams. The Fenix 6X Pro will also be able to store and play 2,000 song via bluetooth.
The most feature-rich version is the Fenix 6X Pro Solar which is similar to the Fenix 6X Pro but uses solar glass to recharge the battery and increase it's life by up to 10 days. It has a 280 x 280 pixel colour displays with 32GB of memory and a water rating of 10 ATM. It retails for $1,369.99CAN / $999.99US and weigh 93 grams. Like the Fenix 6X Pro, the Solar version will also be able to store and play up to 2,000 songs via bluetooth.
A new battery power manager feature shows the number of hours of battery charge left on all of the above watches rather than showing this as a percentage and a typical charge will last from 15-1920 hours depending upon what mode you have the watch in and what features you have enabled.
