The Gorge - Malakwa
Skied the Gorge a few weeks back, and had a great day for early season. However, the rumours are true and the road is not being maintained this year. Drove to 11Km, then skinned to the parking lot at 14Km. Once we get this week's forecasted snow, it will be tough to get very high up the road. Looks like it may be Sled shopping time...

If you are heading from Sicamous towards Revy go through the 4-lane section of Malakwa. Watch for the infamous Red Burner Pub on your right (post skiing Begbie brewing beers are amazing... but that is another post!). Once the 4-lane section ends watch for a bridge that crosses over the tracks. Turn L in that turning lane, cross the highway and follow the forestry road heading towards the mill. Few hundred yards down the road turn R on that FSR (sorry can't recall the name of the road). This leads to the gorge around 14K where you will find the trail head. As i mentioned, you will need a sled, as trucks are probably only getting up to 8 or 9K by now.
