Thanks for the Rant 'JohnP' and for setting everyone straight.

Although the comp is open to everyone of any spelling ability and Go-Pro talent the winners will only be the best posts of each month so as you have said it will take a creative approach and good grammar to win.

We want to see what everyone is getting up to in the backcountry and thus the reason for the comp. Prizes usually persuade people to share more, so keep the entries coming in as there are only 11 days left for this months entries to count!

I am less and less a fan of gopros now. I really dislike seeing them on every other helmet, and seeing snowboarders with poles that don't use them. And skiers using only one pole… how fun is skiing with one pole!?

If a post says soap box I don't even read it. Maybe I will once the best ones have been filtered.

I know it's not easy, but it'd be nice to see some posts that take it to the super annoying extreme, on purpose. That would be a change.

This industry is going to hell with the gopros/youtube, facebook/blogs, etc. Too much junk not enough material. And please, a little attention to the spelling is the respectful thing to do for the readers.

BTW, 9 million is a little bit exagerated. Roger's Pass is a good place, especially once you get to know the less travelled areas along with a stable snowpack.

I also agree that 9 million is a bit much.  I lived in Golden for many years and saw how it changed at Rogers over time.  You are right though, still some great places if you know where to look.
