SEEKING ASGARD: THE FILM

"SEEKING ASGARD: Ski Life Stories from Iceland" is a new full-length feature by Holmlands exploring the ski industry and culture across Iceland. As the film crew circumnavigates the island interviewing individuals throughout the ski community along the way, Seeking Asgard tells a story of skiing through the eyes of its people. 

Filmed over several weeks in April 2022, the interviews are representative of areas within the four corners of Iceland, The film focuses on personal stories — the relationship between a coach father and athlete son, shared insight on the evolution of the outdoor community in relation to female empowerment, a tale of ancestral sheep farm turned prestigious heli-ski operation, government-appointed reindeer hunters, and young sailboat captains fighting a battle for climate change by helping build connections to nature.
