How difficult is it to Alpine Tour with a ski boot without a walk selection using a randonnee binding.

Not ideal, but they will most certainly work, especially if you aren't havng to do any boot packing (alpine boots have pretty slick [slippery soles]). Might not be the most comfortable, especially if they are fit like racing boots (tight), but you can always loosen the top few buckles. I've had a couple of trips when I 1st started out in my downhill/alipine boots (was just laps on Grizzly Shoulder at Rogers Pass – so not an extensive tour, per se)… Bring lots of mole skin, athletic tape and some extra socks to adjust the fit, just in case you develop blisters or toe bash, etc…

Short answer to the original question: Shitty.
Comments: Get some light touring boots, and some dynafit bindings while you're at it. They make all the difference.

2014-01-12 18:43:20My answer, like pedalling a bike with out pedals. It can be done but why would you do it. Good gear makes things more enjoyable.
