It's really all about the weight. And that's a huge consideration.

I went from telemark to frame bindings to dynafit/tech bindings. It's a logical progression. I ski on Dynafits lift serviced too.

Go for tech, I say.

I'm on my third set of tech bindings since 1998, they've never let me down. I have a set of FT 10s on one pair of skis and the Radicals on the other.

I like them since I tour a lot and do a lot of laps climbing on good powder days.

Their nice and light and I like how  they work.

They can be a bit fidily for first time users, on wetter days you have to clean under the toe wing and sometimes knock the snow build up off the heels.

I've never had a pre-release, but its a rare day that I ski at resort on hard pack.

Go for the dynafit their a proven binding

I m on Dynafit speed radical, made the switch 2 years ago...and I still can't find anything negative to say...I was skeptical at first on breakage, I was wrong...I haven t had ANY issues with anything.  I tend to be rough on kit and usually break stuff pretty quickly, so to my surprise I haven't broken them yet.  The price is right, the quality is there, great on the uptrack, and no issues on the down.  Unless your planning on hucking 100 footers, they do the job well!  What more would you want?!  The models are personal preference...Brakes, or no brakes...and if you want to push things a l ittle harder, there is also the Beast...haven't tried it, they were expensive, but the price has gone down considerably this season...So seriously look into switching over to tech bindings, I think you will wonder why you hadn t earlier...

Ok, I'm convinced now, just waiting for the deals now ;-)
