Give Gear a Second Life: MEC’s Annual Gear Swap Returns
Let’s be honest—most of us have outdoor gear collecting dust in the closet. MEC’s annual Gear Swap is back, giving Canadians the chance to clear out their closets, score deals, and keep gear in play for the next generation of adventurers. Think of it as Marie Kondo, but for your outdoor kit!
First launched in the ’90s, Gear Swap has always been about more than bargains—it’s a way to keep outdoor gear out of landfills, connect with fellow adventurers, and give equipment a second life on the trails, slopes, or crags.
How to Get Involved:
- Sell: Rent a table to sell your own gear (deadline: October 1).
- Donate: Drop off gently used items in-store before September 29 and get 15% off at MEC.
- Shop: Come by the event to find your next piece of pre-loved gear.
