Sneak peek at next year’s gear: G3 SENDr Skis

The G3 SENDr Skis are a big mountain ski that is ideal for freeriders yet light enough for long backcountry skiing missions. They use G3’s Powerride Plus construction which is a poplar/paulownia wood core with four layers of carbon fibre and two layers of titanal aluminum and a low friction nylon top sheet for shedding snow. The real secret to the G3 SENDr Ski’s success however is their polyurethane (PU) sidewalls  which provide shock absorption on even the toughest terrain.  Combine all this with the SENDr’s progressive profile and you have a light, yet stiff and damp ski that is forgiving in variable conditions. At 112 underfoot these skis are powder slayers at heart.

While this is a completely different ski to G3’s FINDr ski that we reviewed here, it still offers up the same fun and forgiving feel, only in a big mountain powder surfing ski. Stay tuned to Backcountry Skiing Canada for a full review in the coming months.

With a rockered shovel and raised tail their performance on powder is something you really gotta check out, and this is precisely what I did a few weeks back with Park City Powder Cats. We had a full day skiing the new G3 SENDr Skis and Next year's Scarpa Maestrale Boots.
