Arc’teryx Fissile SV Down Jacket — Serious All-Weather Warmth

Launched last fall, the Fissile SV Down Jacket represents Arc’teryx’s pinnacle all-weather insulated ski and snowboard jacket. Designed for severe weather (hence the “SV” designation), it combines premium goose down insulation with a GORE-TEX shell that’s completely windproof, offering exceptional protection even during prolonged exposure to harsh conditions.

      Arc’teryx Fissile SV Down Jacket

The jacket uses high-quality down in the core for warmth and synthetic insulation in areas more exposed to moisture—such as the shoulders, neck, cuffs, underarms, and hood. This hybrid construction helps maintain performance in snowy or slightly damp environments. Its bonded baffle design reduces cold spots and limits stitching through the shell, increasing both warmth and weather resistance.

For maximum waterproof and windproof protection, the Fissile SV Down Jacket features a 3-layer GORE-TEX ePE Gen 2 membrane, sandwiched between a durable face fabric and a soft GORE C-KNIT™ backer. The new ePE construction is PFAS-free (“forever-chemical” free) and boasts a 28,000 mm water column rating. On top of that, the jacket’s FC0 Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish—also PFAS-free—ensures moisture beads and rolls off rather than soaking into the outer fabric, allowing the GORE-TEX to perform optimally in keeping you dry and warm.

      Arc’teryx Fissile SV Down Jacket

The articulated fit provides excellent mobility while skiing or riding and prioritizes durability and weather protection over low weight, making this jacket ideal for resort riders rather than backcountry skiers.

Snowsports-specific features include a removable, helmet-compatible hood with an integrated high collar for added warmth and coverage. A detachable powder skirt prevents snow from entering at the hem and can be removed when not needed. The jacket also includes a pass pocket on the lower left arm, pit zips for ventilation, and multiple internal and external pockets for convenient storage of small essentials.

With its premium materials and extensive feature set, the Fissile SV Down Jacket sits at the high end of the price range for insulated ski and snowboard jackets—but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
