Kananaskis Engadine December 8th
A very chilly outing in Kananaskis Saturday. Sky was more clear than expected but that had the mercury dipping to -20. Tests on North facing slopes above treeline at ~2400m near Engadine Lodge gave easy planar results down both 30cm and 60cm. Lots of spooky sounding snow like tapping on a drum skin had us back off some steeper terrain. Strong winds are back again today (Dec. 9th). Amazing coverage for this time of year. Hope some more snow and good stability is coming our way.
