Hi, I'm coming to Vancouver February 16, and was hoping to be backcountry skiing from the 18th/19th to the 26th.  My trip partner had to bail so I'm trying to find people to do some great tours with.  I've rented a truck for that week and plan on moving around from slope to slope.  I've got a few ideas from this forum http://www.doglotion.com/backc.....ucket-list .  If you're free to hit the hills anytime in that week I'd love to check out your area.

Just FYI I spent last year living in Switzerland ski mountaineering 2-3 times a week and got to climb and ski a lot of high alps (4000m+) including Mont Blanc.  I've got avi training and keep reading to feel up to date on that front.   This winter (living in flat Ontario), I haven't made it out yet so I'm probably a little out of shape compared to last winter, but completely game for long days and summit goals.  I'll be bringing a rope, ice axe, and some protection (just incase).

Anyway Steve hope to hear from you and enjoy the snow!

Hey,    I'll be on a ski traverse untill Feb 20th,   but could go for a tour after that.   As for summits in my area,  Kootenay pass has some good easy options.   And the Goat Range around Rettalack has some bigger peaks.  I'm keen to get out lots this winter so look me up and I'm sure we could figure something out.

      Hey Steve,

I'm going to move to Nelson for a month or two starting Feb. 1 if I can find some ski buddies.  You sound pretty hardcore so I'm not 100% confident we'd travel at the same pace but if you're still looking for ski buddies let me know.  I head out fairly often but am not as fast as some friends who have been skiing for ages.  Anyways, happy shredding!
