      Ski Partner Wanted [Nelson]

      Howdy,

      Looking for someone to ski backcountry with. I'm an Aussie that's spending the season here in Nelson. Happy to ski just about anything with anyone (AT, tele or snowboard). Have all necessary backcountry gear and have been skiing for a long time but not super experienced with Avy stuff (have done courses so have knowledge, but little experience as our winters are pretty much spring conditions all the way through). On AT gear.


      I'm free most days of the week and am keen for both local (Whitewater, Kootenay pass, etc) and trips further out.

      Hi, I am Coming from Aus to ski bum it out of nelson to start and then where ever is best, for jan and feb. i am an expert downhill and advanced tele skier, skipatrol firstaid and mobility trained, but no avy trainning. i am really keen to get out in the backcountry and i have all the gear but need need some people to go with and learn from. i will be up for anything.

      John M here but had to sign into forum again as the password reminder reset didn't work on my iPad. Anyway I'm in Seattle and will soon be in Nelson I'll put my BC number up once I am up there in the next few days. Keen to ski back country with others, will get in touch with the two people who already replied when I get to Nelson but if unread this feel free to let me kno if you are still about as I wrote that last post in nov and have only just starting checking the forum again today

      Hey John,

      I'm pretty sure I'm going to head to the Nelson area and become a ski bum for a month or two starting Feb 1.  I'm from Calgary, Alberta.  The only thing holding me back is lack of backcountry friends in the area.  Are you still looking for ski buddies?  I'd be a full time skier so would be keen to head out weekdays and weekends.  Are you able to ski weekdays too?  I'm moderately experienced with 4 or 5 seasons of experience and Avi 1 course.  I usually ski the safer areas but am up for bagging the odd steep/exposed peak on bomber days.  If you're up for shredding some pow please let me know.  Thanks,

      and i have my skitouring equipment with me 
      i am quite experianced skitouring in the alps (i am from germany)  nelson is new to me
