      Nelson area touring partners

      Hi my names John from Scotland. 

      I'm on my 6th BC season of back country skiing. i'll be in Nelson from 15 dec2013  to mid march 2014.

      i'm into short slack country or big back country days, all avi trained experienced etc. 

      I'm more of a social back country skiing than a nutter. steady all day not fast. 

      I know this area well and always into trips else where. into Kootenay pass, white water back country, bonnington trips anything fun basically.

       Hey there,

      I hope to be in canada starting March 10 for 1 week and this is a last minute idea for me.  I'm waiting for my new passport to arrive, so my going to canada is dependent on this arriving in time.  I do not have partners, nor do I know the areas well.  I've been to canada a few times as a climber in winter, but that was a few years ago.  Will you be in Nelson still?  I am not a fast hiker/skiier, maybe need to keep trips under 10 mile days.  I am avy certified level I and know how to use my transceiver. I was a specialist in vertical and crevasse rescue some years ago and know backcountry orienteering very well.  I'd like to do some moderate stuff, I alpine tour (Rondanea?) and enjoy climbing to the tops of peaks and powdering downward....hopefully in an upright position!  Let me know if you are interested.  I hope to get my passport this week.
