      The Snowkanagan Is Living Up To Its Name

      Rarely mentioned among BC's world reknown ski locales like Revy, Red Mountain, Whitewater, Kicking Horse and a little resort that begins with the letters W.h.i.s…. (etc) the Okanagan remains a hidden gem full of champagne powder, small crowds and great terrain.


      The high elevations here in the Valley are loaded with snow and have a supportive base.  So far into this season I've had 3 days of touring where blower Pow and great visibility have been a constant.  The season is starting with a bang!  Hopefully the rest of the season will be this excellent.


      Maybe BSC (Backcountry Skiing Canada) can add an Okanagan region to the Interior category of the forum.  We're a small community of backcountry skiers, but we do ski our fair share (and probably more) of the best Pow in BC, in Canada and undoubtably the world!!

      Get out there and get at it while it's good!!!  Cool

      Hi Snowkanagan, thanks for posting up some info. We're always interested in having people share backcountry skiing conditions and info so we can all benefit and stay safe. We would like to add some Okanagan routes to the site but don't have any data, are you willing to help and share some of your knowledge?       Thanks for the compliment.

      As you probably know the resort areas here are the only true high elevation regions so back-country and certainly slack-country areas are not far from the big and not-so-big resorts.
