Soap Box Comp...the rewards...

Well….you said post often, and I have always tried to do as I have been told, so I am climbing back onto the Soap Box…..

I find that exploring new areas while ski touring is one of the most rewarding aspects of our sport. I started exploring the Coquihalla region on the BC Coast a few years ago, I would travel the highway hoping and dreaming that I would find high quality turns similar to those that I had regularly experienced in the Sea to Sky Corridor, and in the Kootenays. However, I consistently find good skiing, but not great skiing. This does not speak to the overall quality of the area but instead it speaks to my poor timing as a weekend warrior. I can happily report that persistence and perseverance paid off this past weekend, and thanks to my ski partner we have some evidence to back up the claims….I am hopeful for some more snow from the pending storms so that I can get out again between changing diapers and coaching sports! I love winter!
