PHOTO COMP- How I spent my Christmas vacation

This year I moved to the West Kootenays and enrolled myself in college, full-time. Determined to ski as much as possible and still attend class, I planned a big Christmas holiday trip. The goal: ski 17 of 17 days.

The first 10 days were easy, I hit a major storm cycle in Whistler, then followed it to Revelstoke. On the 11th day I headed east to the Rockies to spend five days at Amiskwi Lodge. The air was cold and the snow was thin but the good company and apres saunas kept the stoke high. The second last day I put in a couple morning laps and made the trip home to Castlegar. On day 17, I capped off the trip skiing some Kootenay smoke on a bluebird day. Mission accomplished.

This picture was taken on new years eve. It was -27 outside, the wind scoured snowpack was 40cm deep and my beers froze solid the instant I cracked em. You can see Amiskwi Lodge in the bottom left corner.
