      Photo Comp - Chimera Demos

At the splitboarding festival on the 26 and 27th of march there was a surprise unveiling of Chimera Snowboards, a new company that only makes splitboards - no solid boards will be in their product line. They are focused on trying to innovate on backcountry coming up with ways to improve and push forward splitboards. They arrived with a bunch of boards to demo and show off, both ones they will be selling next season and some pretty neat prototypes. On saturday a couple people in our group took out some Chimera boards to test them out, and we were all pretty stoked on how they handled, both skinning up and riding. The first shot is andy hucking the Mace off a cornice, and the second shot is Jessica discovering how quickly the Unicorn Chaser can snap a turn out.

We built this backcountry skiing community for you, the passionate skier, and hope you enjoy the hard work we put into all the reviews, routes, videos, and posts we create. It’s been free from day one but that doesn’t mean it’s not a valuable resource. If you enjoy this website and value the content we create for you, then please support Backcountry Skiing Canada by donating today or by clicking on those sponsor ads and 'Buy Now' links at the bottom of the reviews. Thank you!
