Cooke City Ski Touring--on the edge of Yellowstone Park

'just returned from a five night ski touring trip with Beartooth Powder Guides into the Beartooth Mountains of Montana (and a bit of Wyoming). We'll have a more in-depth trip report for you in a while--this is just a taste. 

We went guided and catered, two nights at Woody Creek Cabin and three at Mount Zimmer Yurt. Both were comfortable--the cabin may have been a little more spacious/easy, and the Yurt had better range of skiing.

We got into High Hayden on the cabin-side of Cooke and explored zones like Butter and Goat Lake around the yurt. We were happy to have a sled assist for the approaches. The snow machines allowed for more vert and less getting to the vert.
