Ski seasons not over! It’s just beginning in the souther hemisphere and their’s no better place to go explore than Chile. There’s a long list of Ski Resorts in Chile, the most popular are located in the Central Zone and include Portillo, La Parva, El Colorado/Farellones, Valle Nevado, and Termas de Chillán. But who wants to go ski with all those crowds? How about some where that gets the most snow, few crowds and has some side-country skiing?

This year The Adventure Project is offering a 10 day Ski Chile program to the southern region which is known for it’s abundant snowfall, great advanced terrain, lack of crowds, Chilean authenticity and excellent side-country access. You’ll have nine days skiing Nevados de Chillan Ski Area which is located approximately 400 km south of Santiago and 194 km east from Concepcion which is the point of arrival. Boasting the most snowfall in all of Chile, Nevados de Chillan Ski Area receives 10m of snow and has the longest ski runs in South America, the longest being Las Tres Marias at 13km. Nevados de Chillan Ski has 12 lifts, including 5 chairlifts and 7 drag lifts. The Nevados de Chillan Ski Area offers a vertical drop of 1,097m / 3,600ft, with the base village situated at 1,403m / 4,600ft and the resort’s summit at 2,500m /8,200ft.

      Program Focus
This program is ideal for adventurous and experienced skiers/boarders to explore the more southern ski areas of Chile. These resorts tend to be a little more off the beaten path for Western visitors and Chilean skiers alike, so the slopes (holiday periods excluded), tend to be quieter. You can get a more authentic Chilean experience here! These areas also get a lot of snow and have great sidecountry access, with good inbounds terrain.

You’ll be guided by our team for 10 days in total (7 ski days). We’ll put you through our comprehensive avalanche safety training and there is an opportunity to work on technique, if we have people looking to improve on their freeride ability. We have a great program, not only do you get to ski/ride one of the best resorts in southern Chile, but you’ll meet a lot of the locals and experience their way of life, not to mention sample the local food. You’ll be in good hands!
