Video: Sea of Rock

If you find yourself reading this post on this website, chances are that you enjoy intensely physical, challenging outdoor adventure and you get some satisfaction about pushing yourself to your limits.  The video ‘Sea of Rock’ is about this kind of challenge as a couple of young European mountain bikers become the first (at least according to the video) to ride the trails of the alpine terrain in this area of the Alps in Austria.  The terrain is extremely technical making it nearly impossible.
 
The video speaks to us through some older gentlemen who, after partaking in a few medicinal libations, attempted to ride down some stairs in the area of the Sea of Rock in an early form of mountain biking back in the early 70’s and bent the poo out of the front rim on an old bike.  This bike was then carried by some climbers up a rock face on Mt. Sommerstein which is the gateway which leads to the trails these young mountain bikers shot the video.  The bike still to this day sits high up on the exposed rock face as a symbol of the fun and the challenge that playing in these mountains presents.
