Footprints

 Footprint: the outline or indentation left by a foot on a surface. For those of us on skins, out footprint is called a skin track, but I'm not really here to talk about indentations in the snow. While the skin track is the footprint our skis leave in the snow, the impact they have on the planet is much larger; though much harder to see.

 All of the gear we use has its own unique environmental footprint and some products are much more impactful than others. There are many considerations one can make when selecting products with a lower impact, but not all impacts a product makes are so obvious. This article posted on the MEC blog explores the entire footprint of a product and provides insight on how one can take steps to reduce their impact. The numbers provided are specific to their store, but it really gives us an idea of all the ways in which we can make a difference.
