2013 Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival

The bad news is, this morning in Lake Louise, I woke up to wet sloppy snow on the ground. Oh well, it's a two coffee morning and time to hang up the rock shoes. But the good news is, I woke up to wet sloppy snow on the ground! Yahoo! Winter is coming!

More good news: starting next week October 26 and running until November 3, The Banff Mountain film and book festival starts! And it is just in time for the off season slump.

The Banff film and book festival includes favorites like the adrenaline packed Radical Reels night plus the Snow Show. It also has a wide variety of films about mountain culture that are pretty great. They also offer workshops for budding adventure filmmakers and mountain writers as well as several photography workshops. If these don't interest you, there are exhibitions around the Banff Centre and several talks and presentations. This year you can have Kick Ass coffee with Conrad Anker or attend the Dirtbag Cafe with local celeb Nancy Hansen, or listen to a book reading at Words and Whiskey.
