Voile is making moves to stay in the game

It is certainly exciting times in the world of Split Board equipment.  Small companies like Karakorum popping  up with exciting, innovative ideas, smaller board manufactures like Venture pumping out some amazing boards, and even the majors in the ski world like Vokl and K2 are getting into the splitboard market.  Now, in what I see as a move to keep from being swept away in the wave of new competition the grandaddy of splitobard manufactures Voile has aquired Sentury Snowboards.  They have also hired Ben Harmon of Movement Skis as well as Sentury fame to head up R and D.  The current season is still young and I am already excited to see what new gear is going to hit the market next year.

Voile Manufacturing Acquires Sentury Snowboards of Reno, Nevada, Hires Founder Ben Harmon.

Salt Lake City, Utah, January 10, 2012

Continuing a strong commitment to US based manufacturing of splitboards and skis, Voile Manufacturing acquired boutique, high quality manufacturer, Sentury Snowboards of Reno Nevada in September 2011.

Started by founder and engineer Ben Harmon in 2000, Sentury has been the recipient of the ISPO brand new award for lightweight composite snowboard design as well as X-Games medal winners and Olympians have ridden Sentury boards.

Ben joins the Voile team to head up R&D and manufacturing of Voile splitboards and snowboards.

Along with a MS in Engineering, Ben brings to Voile over ten years experience of progressive design and production of snowboards and splitboards. Ben was also instrumental in setting up design and manufacturing of the hot new brand Moment Skis in Reno, Nevada.

Voile welcomes Ben to the team as we look forward to pushing the design of Voile splitboards into a bright future.

With designs that began in 1991, Voile continues to lead the splitboard market with it’s simple and reliable splitboard hardware system. Most major snowboard brands have adopted the Voile system for their brand splitboard.
