New Camelbak Mountain Bike Low Rider collection - VIDEO

I’ve been mountain biking with the new Camelbak Mule LR pack for the last month now since receiving it at the Outdoor PressCamp event. At the Event Seth Beiden ran me through their new low rider collection of packs designed specifically for mountain biking. There is of course the Camelbak Mule LR and also the more enduro focussed Camelbak Kudu LR Pack. For my biking style the Mule LR has been ideal, incidentally LR stands for “Low rider” and refers to Camlebak’s new hydration system (more on that below). The Mule LR has a built in tool kit holder and fleece lined sunglasses pocket as well as ample room for pads and snacks in the main compartment. My 1/2 shell helmet fits securely on the outside and Camelbak’s new Low rider reservoir fits in it’s on internal pocket nice and low on my back which only helps to increase comfort and also stability. If you’re in the market for a new bike pack then do yourself a favour and check out the new Camelbak Mule LR and if you’re more of an enduro rider then the Camelbak Kudu LR might be right for you.

        Camelbak Mule LR
The Mule bike pack has been a staple in the Camelbak line up for years and is the epitome of a well designed back for mountain bikers. New in this latest edition is the integration of the low rider hydration system. It now uses the Crux Reservoir which keeps the weight lower and closer to your back providing you with additional stability.

It also integrates the follow features:
        • Updated helmet carry buckles
        • Airfoil back panel for increased airflow and comfort
        • Stabilizing load-bearing waist belt
        • Dual reservoir compression straps
        • Larger diameter tube and connections

        Specs:
        Price: $150 US
Size: 15L capacity (3L water reservoir)

        Camelbak Kudu LR
The Camelbak Kudu LR is targeted at enduro riders since it has added back protection and can carry a full face and a 1/2 shell helmet. Bike pads can be carried externally and to keep the pack secure to your body there are dual sternum straps and a beefy waist belt that is shaped more like a kidney belt. The Camelbak Kudu LR comes in three sizes, 8L, 12L and 18L and like the Mule LR, it to uses the new Cruz Reservoir.
