Sneak Peek: Elan’s New Ripstick Black Edition 106 Skis - VIDEO

Elan has been handcrafting skis in the Slovenian Alps for well over 70 years now so they know a thing or two about making great skis. The success of their Ripstick line of skis was the genesis for the carbon infused edition which were unleashed last year with their beloved Ripstick 96 Black Edition. Freeriders demanded a fatter version to conquer the entire mountain and Elan responded with their new Ripstick 106 Black Edition which will be released next season.
  We first got aquatinted with the Ripstick Skis when we reviewed the Ripstick 96’s in early 2018. We were so impressed we had to get our hands on a pair of the Black Edition 106’s to see how adding an additional layer of carbon wrapped around the skis internal wood core would improve an already impressive ski. This carbon version of the 106 skis still utilizes internal carbon rods which create energy, rebound and stability while the additional edge to edge carbon wrap increases the ski’s performance, strength and power without adding weight.
