Everyone here at Golden Skimountaineering in partnership with Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is thrilled to introduce the “North American Open Dogtooth Dash” March 26th and 27th. Modelled after the popular European multi day events, our 2011 race will offer multiple race formats and courses for a festival style weekend of racing.
The North American Open Dogtooth Dash is still our Canadian Championship race with:

3 different course lengths; Rec(2000 ft), Enduro(4000 ft) and Elite (6000 ft)

Additional ways to win; Heavy Metal, Poker Run, Split board, Masters and Juniors.
- 0800 -Last minute race registration/Race package pick up at the Gondola base
- 0930- Racer Meeting
- 1100- Gearcheck at Gondola top
- 1200- Race starts
- 1530- Last racers expected to finish
- 1700- Banquet and Awards
The Elite course is bigger and better, with approx 6000 ft of vert, all 4 of our mtn bowls, 3 pks and tonnes of technical terrain in between. This course is the real deal for folks wanting a REAL ski-mountaineering experience. Newly introduced is our middle distance Enduro course, weighing in at approximately 4000 ft of vertical gain and loss, it’s a great option for racers looking to step up from the Rec but don’t want to spend 4 hours out on the course. Continuing the Rec/Poker run concept this year the course will be shortened to 2000ft with emphasis on having a bit more fun and a bit less suffer. In this non-timed event competitors pick up playing cards at all transitions and the racer with the best poker hand at the finish winning.
$1000 cash up for grabs as well as tons of shwag giveaways from Suunto, Black Diamond, Arcteryx, Dynafit, BCA and Kicking Horse Coffee

A Relay Team short track, where teams of 2 go head to head based out of the Heavens Door Yurt. Look forward to a spectator friendly course with beer gardens and DJ
