TGR's Light the Wick Premier in Nelson BC!!!

Selkirk College and the Ski Resort Operations and Management program (Celebrating 30 years) along with PowderFix Promotions bring you TGR’s newest 16mm & HD Ski and Snowboard Film, Light the Wick.

The award-winning producers at Teton Gravity Research (TGR) present their newest ski film, Light The Wick. Shot using film, HD and 3D technology, Light The Wick is about sparking the flame and watching the world's best athletes blast off.

This winter the TGR crew of athletes and cinematographers captured the most jaw-dropping footage ever witnessed. The team traveled around the world to uncharted destinations, as well as some of their favorite stomping grounds. Follow the crew as they discover the previously unskied big mountain playground of Petersburg, AK, find the best snow Croatia has seen in fifty years, ski deep pillows in undiscovered Italy, hit full throttle riding in British Columbia, and experience epic free-riding at Ripley Creek and North Cascades Heli. Light The Wick showcases the most talented and well-rounded athletes in skiing together in one must-see film.

$10 – Tickets will be available at the Whitewater office at 513 Victoria Street.

DOORS OPEN: 7PM
SHOWTIME: 8PM

After party location is still to be announced!

Looks wick-ed. I'll be there. Hey Powderfix: any idea if they'll be handing out 3D glasses for the event? 3D ski. Nice. Love all the wipe-outs at the begiinning of the youtube vid!

I am actually just working that out. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be able to get an HD 3D projector for the Capitol Theatre. I am working out whether or not we will be able to have a premier with the red and blue glasses 3D which can be played using a regular projector. Only the last ten minutes of the movie was shot for 3D, although it would be an added bonus to the movie. I removed the 3D part from the description until I know for sure

Either way, come out and enjoy the movie, get stoked, meet some new people to ski with, it's going to be a great winter!!!!

Update, we will be handing out 3D glasses at the premier! Should be a great end to a sure to be wicked film.
