Coldsmoke Powder Festival Events
Here is the line up for this years Coldsmoke festival at Whitewater Ski Resort in Nelson BC, we will post the clinic dates and times once they are available.
We hope to see everyone out there at this years event as the Backcountry Skiing Canada crew will be there - snow dance already in progress.
Thursday Feb.24th at 5:30pm - Touchstones Gallery, Nelson
G3 Ski Graphics Gallery Event
- For those who roll into town early we do a display of the ski graphics that were submitted to G3 for the ski graphics comp they put on each year. It’s a free wine and cheese event with catering provided by Whitewater. There will also be a DJ this year.
Friday Feb.25th at 7pm - Capitol Theatre, Nelson
Coldsmoke Opener $15
- This is a night of quirky ski films, prizes and beer to get everyone inspired for the weekend of pow!
Saturday Feb.26th at 7pm - Mary Hall at Selkirk College, Nelson
Coldsmoke Buff-eh and Multi Media Face Off $55
- This one is our big night out. It includes an amazing buffet put on by the students of the hospitality program at Selkirk College. The theme for the meal this year is Mountain Ranges around the world.
- This ticket includes the meal and the show
- The multi media face off is a new event for coldsmoke, formerly it was the photo face off but we have moved to a new multi media format for a special twist.
- One of 2 events of it’s kind in BC
- The competitors of the face off are Nicolas Teichrob, Ryan Flett, Anthonly Bonello and Team 5. The theme is Winter mtn culture and the shows have to be 3 to 5 minutes long. Each team gets $1000 when they produce a show and then they will all compete for an additional $1000 on Saturday evening.

- Some of the companies coming up to show their wares are Arc’teryx, G3, Black Diamond, Voile, Backcountry Access, Scarpa, Garmont, Dynafit, Kastle
- Valhalla Pure Powderkeg Slopestyle, Saturday 11am – 2:30 pm – at Whitewater resort
- Scarpa Poker Run, Sunday 10am – mandatory pre meeting on Saturday at 9am at Scarpa tent at Whitewater
- ROAM Randonee Rally, Saturday 9am – mandatory pre meeting on Friday night at ROAM Shop in Nelson, event is on hill
- The Gerick’s Banked Slalom, Sunday 1pm – at Whitewater resort
- Prize ceremonies and happy our Saturday and Sunday @ 3:30pm
