      • Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System

      Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System

Vapur has recently released their newest product, the DrinkLink™ Hydration System. This will turn any Vapur anti-bottle with the SuperCap into a hands-free bladder with different drinking options. Included with the DrinkLink™ is a bite-valve that can be attached directly to the Vapur anti-bottle, or attached to the hands free hydration tube so you can store your water in your pack and a clip will allow you to keep the bite-valve close by on your shoulder strap.

      Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System

The Vapur 1.5L Wide Mouth Anti-Bottle and Drink Link Hydration System work amazingly well together. Put it in your backpack or use the carabiner to hang it, either way, it will be there when you need it.

Paired with the DrinkLink in this review is their biggest water bottle to date, the 1.5L Wide Mouth anti-bottle. These Vapur anti-bottles will stand upright when full and can roll, fold or stay flat to save space in your pack when empty. For more on this check out this review we did for the Vapur Element and Vapur MicroFilter.

When filled up the 1.5L anti-bottle stands up tall, but as you drink the liquid out it slims down freeing up space as it also gets lighter in weight.

      Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System

The DrinkLink Hydration System comes with a BPA free hydration tube that is over three feet long to ensure you can access water that is in or on your pack. It’s made out of Delron and BPA-free polypropylene. The quick connect technology makes it easy to change your mouthpiece or remove the hydration tube, and reattach the mouthpiece directly to the bottle. The mouthpiece itself has a hands free shut off with a bite valve so you can keep your hands on the bars, poles, grips, or whatever extreme activity you enjoy.Delron and BPA-free polypropylene. The quick connect technology makes it easy to change your mouthpiece or remove the hydration tube, and reattach the mouthpiece directly to the bottle. The mouthpiece itself has a hands free shut off with a bite valve so you can keep your hands on the bars, poles, grips, or whatever extreme activity you enjoy.

The Wide Mouth 1.5L anti-bottle is the same as other Vapur anti-bottles, just bigger! It was created in California and is still manufactured in the USA. The SuperCap has a tough screw in seal that will prevent leakage and it has an easy-to-open flip-cap over a half-inch spout. The SuperCap comes with a detachable carabineer to clip onto any attachment point. It’s both freezer and dishwasher safe, and built to withstand regular use and cleaning. The Wide Mouth 1.5L comes in only one colour right now, Translucent Blue with orange trim, and when full is quite mouth-watering!

Sold together for $29.99US you can purchase this product by clicking the links at the bottom of this review, which also helps out this web site. If you already have a SuperCap Vapur bottle then you may purchase the DrinkLink Hydration System for only $16.99USD. The entire unit is top-rack dishwasher friendly except for the tube, which you can wash manually by removing the pieces and running water through it.

      Features:

      • Hands-free hydration tube.
      • User-friendly bite valve.
      • No leak, super cap.
      • Integrated carabineer.

The cap to the Wide Mouth Anti-Bottle is equipped with a cover to prevent leakage, a wide drinking spout and a removable carabineer to clip onto almost anything.

      Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System
When completely empty the Anti-bottle can be rolled up and hooked into the carabineer for optimal space saving storage and packability.
      Vapur DrinkLink Hydration System
To install the drink link hydration system simply unscrew the cap from the bottle and screw in the cap from the drink link. The blue button will release the hydration tube but will still prevent water from spilling if it accidentally becomes detached. The hands-free hydration tube is equipped with a mouth piece and a clip. The bite valve is where you get your water from when it’s pulled open. The clip can be attached to a backpack strap to keep access to your liquids hands free.

The bite valve mouth piece can be inserted directly into the cap as well, giving you the option to avoid using the hydration tube. The valve is up in the open position in the photo.

      Verdict:

I personally love the Vapur anti-bottle because it helps save space in my pack as I drink my water. Also, it is much lighter than my stainless steel water bottle and carrying less weight is always a good thing. However, I am not a huge fan of the DrinkLink system because there are just too many moving parts. The bite-valve is easy to use yes, but not so easy to clean and I would not feel comfortable sharing my water with this system. The tube will freeze in sub-zero temperatures even inside my insulated sleeve in my pack, so I have to blow the water back into the bag to avoid this. I like that I can ditch the hydration tube and just use the bite valve when it suits my needs, and love the SuperCap and all its features. I always recommend drinking water, especially in the winter when you may not feel like it, and it's essential for injury prevention. The DrinkLink Hydration System would be best used during summer activities, but I would definitely carry the Vapur anti-bottles ski touring in the winter.

      PROS:

      • Very lightweight and environmentally friendly.
      • Bottle folds, rolls or flattens when empty.
      • Built in detachable carabineer.
      • Long hydration tube.

      CONS:

      • Bite valve is dishwasher friendly but hard to clean.
      • Shoulder clip is flimsy and snapped on so it could be easily lost.
      • Bite-valve /SuperCap connection doesn’t seem trustworthy.
      • DrinkLink bite valve assembly is excessively long and cumbersome.
