Eagles Nest Outfitters’s (ENO) Lounger Chair is somewhere between a hammock and a chair, allowing you to sway in the breeze in surprising comfort. ENO, based out of North Carolina, has created an easy-to-set-up chair that begs lazy afternoons reading a book or taking a nap. It likely won’t, however, find it’s way into your backpack on longer trips.
The Lounger chair offers some nifty features to ensure it fits your body type and preferred position, be it sitting or reclining. The free-hanging leg rest has an easy adjustment to raise or lower it to your desire, as does the backrest, meaning you can sit up or lay back to catch some Z’s. The plush headrest is functional and comfortable, and there’s a usable drink holder and storage pouches for your snacks or what-have-you.
The Lounger is supported by a robust aluminum frame that is easy to assemble. Combine that with a ripstop nylon fabric and steel fasteners and loop rings, and the Lounger is capable to hold people up to 250 pounds with confidence.
The set-up is relatively painless but finding the ideal location to set it up can be tricky. While demo videos show people hanging them from leaned-over trees or large, horizontal branches, we experienced few of these ideal situations camping and rigged up a taught line between trees to hang the Lounger. This worked satisfactorily, but may dissuade some people. This would be an ideal addition to a porch with a good, supportive cross beam to hang it.
At 54 oz, it’s not exactly a lightweight camping chair and it’s not practical for such excursions due to the weight and finding an ideal set-up location. A traditional hammock would suffice in these instances. However, as a companion on a car-camping trip or even around the home, the Lounger is a unique and comfortable way to while away the hours.

The ENO Lounger Chair is a unique and extremely comfortable, but you’ll probably want to pack it in your trunk rather than on a backcountry trip due to the weight, bulk and difficulty finding an ideal location to hang it. The Lounger is durable and sure to last year’s of use. For the right user, it’s a fine addition to your equipment. Hang it, pour yourself a cold one and enjoy the afternoon.
