Previously, I spoke of the Atomic and Arc’teryx Grottoflage collab and highlighted a few of the pieces in that limited-edition range of apparel and ski gear. I have received several of these items and have been getting them out into the mountains and enjoying them at the resort. They include from Atomic: the MAVERICK 105 CTI Arc’teryx Edition Skis, Strive 14 GW Bindings, Backland FR SQS Arc'teryx Edition Poles, Revent GT AMID Arc’teryx Edition Helmet and Four Pro HD Arc’teryx Edition Goggles. From Arc’teryx, there is the Grotto Sabre Jacket and Sabre Pants, which come in two colourways: Bliss, for her, is a soft, dusty pink, and Carob, for him, which is based on a deeper earth tone. The Grottoflage pattern flourishes across every item in the kit, unifying the collection without feeling overbearing or try-hard.
The Grottoflage collab brings together two iconic brands in the big-mountain skiing space. Both have leaned on their freeride athletes and design teams to create an offering that goes beyond a unique colourway; it is about showcasing each brand’s capabilities and expertise in their respective disciplines.
The Atomic Maverick 105 CTI Arc’teryx Edition is a 105 mm underfoot, all-mountain freeride ski that blends a damp, powerful feel with a surprisingly agile, playful ride for advanced and expert skiers. Built around a Power Woodcore of ash and poplar with CTI construction—carbon and titanal laminates—it delivers strong edge hold, stability at speed, and reduced chatter without feeling overly heavy or demanding. An All-Mountain Rocker profile and HRZN 3D tips increase surface area for better float and smoother turn initiation in soft or variable snow, making it a dependable daily driver for everything from groomers to off-piste and storm days.
The Atomic Strive 14 GW is a lightweight, low-profile alpine binding designed for advanced all-mountain, freeride, and freestyle skiers who want powerful edge control without excess weight. Its LDN low-profile toe and chassis keep you close to the ski for a more neutral stance, better snow feel, and quick, precise power transmission through turns. Automatic toe adaptation and GripWalk/alpine sole compatibility provide consistent, reliable release, while the 3‑part heel, locking brakes, and TÜV-certified construction add vibration damping, safety, and durability within a DIN range of 5–14.
The Atomic Backland FR SQS Arc’teryx Edition poles are a lightweight, adjustable freeride and touring pole built from high-strength 7000-series aluminum, featuring Atomic’s SQS safety quick-release strap system and a comfortable ergonomic EVA grip for secure handling in demanding terrain. They telescope roughly from 110–135 cm using a robust Power Lock mechanism, include large powder baskets for better float in deep snow, and use a durable carbide tip for secure purchase on ice and rock. Like the standard Backland FR SQS, they integrate a cleverly hidden ski-binding screwdriver in each of the shafts for on-the-fly adjustments, with the Arc’teryx edition distinguished primarily by its co-branded graphics and freeride-focused aesthetic.
The Atomic Revent GT AMID Arc’teryx Edition Helmet is a low‑profile, all‑mountain snow helmet that pairs Atomic’s AMID 360° rotational‑impact system—designed to exceed conventional impact protection standards by up to roughly 40%—with a lightweight hybrid ABS/PC in‑mold shell for a strong yet streamlined feel on the hill. It features an adjustable 360° fit system and conforming Live Fit padding for a close, personalized fit that stays comfortable through long days of resort laps or sidecountry missions. Active Aircon venting and a removable, washable full‑cap liner with merino‑blend, odour‑resistant fabric help regulate temperature and freshness across changing conditions. The Arc’teryx collaboration adds a refined aesthetic with premium detailing and colour treatment, making this helmet appealing to skiers who want top‑tier safety technology with a clean, technical look that matches modern Arc’teryx outerwear.
The Atomic Four Pro HD Arc’teryx Edition Goggles are a premium, large-fit snowsports goggle that pairs Atomic’s high-definition lens technology with a clean, minimalist Arc’teryx aesthetic, delivering exceptional contrast, depth perception, and terrain definition across a wide range of light conditions. Their cylindrical double lens and wide field of view help maintain clear vision in variable weather, while a sealed lens system and anti-fog inner lens work together to resist moisture and fogging during intense skiing or riding. A Live Fit frame with tri-layer face foam moulds comfortably to the face, remains compatible with most other helmets and prescription glasses, and pairs nicely with the Atomic Revent GT Amid Helmet.
The Arc’teryx Grotto Sabre Jacket is a premium, freeride-focused shell designed for high-performance protection in demanding alpine conditions. Built from durable GORE-TEX fabric with a soft flannel backer, it offers waterproof, windproof, and breathable comfort ideal for deep powder and variable weather. Its articulated patterning ensures full mobility, while features like WaterTight zippers, an integrated powder skirt, and a helmet-compatible StormHood provide complete mountain-ready functionality. The Grotto Sabre blends technical precision with minimalist design and features the eye-catching grottoflage pattern—stand out at the resort while you blend in.
The Arc’teryx Grotto Sabre Pants are premium freeride ski and snowboard pants engineered for performance on rugged mountain terrain. Made with waterproof, windproof GORE-TEX fabric, they provide superior weather protection while maintaining breathability and comfort during high-output descents. Their relaxed fit allows easy layering and freedom of movement, while features like side vents, articulated patterning, and reinforced insteps enhance durability and ventilation. Optimized for all-day resort and backcountry use, the Grotto Sabre Pants balance technical precision with Arc’teryx’s signature minimalist design.
As I mentioned in the previous post, when the Atomic / Arc’teryx Grottoflage Collection dropped, this is a limited release, so it will likely sell out fast, as it did last year. The skis, helmets, goggles, and poles are available exclusively on Atomic’s website, while the Grotto Sentinel and Grotto Sabre apparel are available at select Arc’teryx stores and on the Arc’teryx website. Get yours while you can!
