Whitewater's Glory Ridge Chair - UPDATE

Things are starting to happen up at Whitewater, the pictures below are from Saturday Oct 16th and you can see that there are a few more structures at the top of the chair now. There is a new building to the north of the Glory Ridge Chair summit and the basic structure of the top of the chair is now being worked on and starting to take shape. All of the access roads to/from the existing runs are complete  as are all of the foundations for the towers [which rumour has will be flown in this week] - this is when things really start to move as you will see progress above groung and not just in ground.

You can see the new structure to the left of the summit station....

As well the summit structure itself is taking shape....

And one of the runs appears to have the perfect vantage of the face of White Queen which will provide a good perspective to plan that mid morning tour...

The next few weeks should prove to be busy ones with lots of evident milestones: towers, cable and finally chairs. Hopefully this weeks dry forecast lets the staff get everything to the top of the mountain before the storms roll in and the base starts to grow - only 6 weeks to go.

      Let it Puke.

does anybody know if that line in the last picture was cleared recently? Or was it an existing backside line?

Crystaline, the line in the last pic is the ridge to get to sprouler's/kuba's corner..it's definitely not new. It's a view of the ridge from where the new lift will drop riders off. I've hiked the backside a few times this summer/fall to keep my own eye on what's shakin. The only runs they've cleared extensively is directly beneath the new lift. Backside should be the same old rough and rugged terrain. To all you Glory Ridge chair haters - Stay home and sleep in!! Let it SNOW!!Laugh

I agree, this will be nothing but a good thing for the hill - I am sure the nay sayers will come around once they start lapping backsides w/o the hitching aspect. Or like you said stay hope and sleep in - more for the rest of us!
