American Avalanche fatality near Golden BC

A skier from the United States has been killed in an avalanche in Golden, B.C.
RCMP said a group of skiers was caught in the slide at about 3:40 p.m. PT near Golden, about 200 kilometres west of Calgary.
"One person buried," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said. "The person was dug out by members of the ski party."
Mosklauk said the injured skier had no pulse when he was found and attempts to revive him continued as he was taken by helicopter to Golden General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Members of the group were from the U.S., Moskaluk said. No names have been released.
The skier is the fourth person to die in an avalanche in B.C. this winter.
In December, Duncan MacKenzie, 30, died after being injured in an avalanche and trapped in the mountains for much of the night near Pemberton, B.C.
Just days later, Ronald Greg Sheardown, 45, died in an avalanche near Revelstoke, B.C., while on a heli-skiing excursion with 10 other skiers and a guide from Canadian Mountain Holidays.
In November, a snowmobiler died in an avalanche in the Torpy Mountain recreation area near Prince George.
