If easy access is your thing, the Healy Pass area may fit your requirements; there are definitely trees, but not a whole lot up high. The easiest would be to head out from Sunshine Village and head WNW, or you could ski up Healy creek from the parking lot. There are other options in the vacinity, depending on just what you're looking for. There are several photos you can check out on Google Maps for reference.

What are you filming??

I am filming a huge art project, lots of surreal things. It is a sequence in the play/video I am making. So here is some more specific questions

How long on xc skis does it take before you are above the treeline at healy pass?

How is the wind?

Is it dangerous? Is avalaunches a hazard? What about exposure? If their is any exposure I could very easily be blown off a cliff, or the painting will get blown off the cliff and I will be screwed because it took me years of full time labour to make it. 

I did some google searching but I can't find a good map of the area, would you be able to link me?

Healy pass is known for its wind affected snow ! and the trip down is fast on skinny skis .

Easy access to some beautiful photographs is the plain of 6 glaciers behind lake louise . Start at the chateau , ski around the lake on the snow covered asphalt 8 foot wide path, and up the valley . At this point the wardens have a sign warning you about the avalanche risk .

Stay in the botttom of the valley where you are just past the run out zones of most slides .You might have to break trail here .Do not side hill on the summer trail since it crosses many avalanche slopes midpath .

 If the avi forecast is Considerable or less and its not snowing heavily or blowing new snow around you will be fine .Go for a kilometer to the base of the morraine . It's post card spectacular .If you can't get phenomenal photos or movies  then think of dropping art !!!

I have brought it up to some really windy places, but it works as a sail and if their is any exposure at all I am in serious danger as I can easily be blown around holding it. Also if the wind is too poweful it will rip it in half. I would say 20kmph is the most wind I can take. The less the better.

Avalaunche safety... I want it in an area that is avalaucnhe safe. I have decent discretion but I don't want to go into sketchy areas altogether. I need to be stationary in the filming locations for long  periods of time so no where dangerous but I mean just recommend anywhere, I will decide for my self if its dangerous.

Please just list as many routes as possible that match this description, I will look up pictures and info on it.

alright awesome thanks a lot, will try it out soon. I am familiar with this area too but for some reason haven't been up the plains, always went around the agnus area. How far is the skiing distance till you are in open view?
