    Commonwealth Peak

It is still early season.  Proven by the countless logs and tree humping needed to reach the base of Commonwealth Peak in Kananaskis.  After a couple hours of perseverance, we were rewarded with some good early season snow and a beautiful view of the peak.  After skiing the fan we continued down the other side of the pass to Commonwealth Creek, down a snow covered waterfall, through some more bushes, and back to the car.  Several scratches later, we are all feeling a bit better about the world, and we can sleep easy knowing that the terrain needs a few more blankets of that fluffy white stuff before it gets really good Yell

Hey Bruce, how is the backcountry shaping up out there in AB?

We got a pineapple express hit us just as things were shaping up out here in the West Kootenays, but really it will be good for the snow pack stabalization in the long term and we desperately needed more snow as 1 meter just don't cut it this time of year.

    Got any Beta?

    (nice shot BTW)

Yeah man, pretty trim these days.  My bindings are broken right now and I'm almost glad I can't go skiing... means that I won't wreck my skis!  Haven't been out to Lake Louise or the icefields parkway yet, but that would be my suggestion.
