Joffre Lakes Never Disappoints

This amazing place is just a short drive from my house so I'm here a lot.. even just for a lunch break sometimes. Here are some pics from one of the visits this week.

This is the first of three lakes, just 400m from the parking lot. This place is a bit of a zoo usually, and even more so on a nice summer day. Joffre Lakes (and Joffre peak) are located on the Duffy Lake Road, north of Pemberton and is part of Garibaldi Park. It's one of the only places in the park you can bring a dog.

I brought my telephoto lens to get a better look at the glacier. With a dusting of snow it was looking magnificent.

This is a fantastic area to camp, hike, mountaineer, snowshoe and ski tour. If you are ever in the area, stop in for a look.
