The on going Revelstoke and area conditions and bragging thread.

I just moved to Revelstoke this summer ( oh no not another one. yah yah ) from the rockies chasing more affordable housing and better snow. Starting this thread up to exchange beta and maybe find a few extra people to ski with.

Anyone notice the snow up on begbie this morning?

Looking forward to seeing some stoke from the stoke...

If a few more people would be kind enough to move away it will be a lot easier to find solitude and untouched mountainsides in the rockies... it sucks here, you should all move to Rev Wink

Ahaha sorry il'l still be tracking up the slopes in the rockies, you can keep the hords of tourists though! Managed a busy hotel in Canmore for years so the change is welcome.

In addition to our ski touring adventures from the Ymir Backcountry Ski Lodge we are also offering accommodation and ski touring services from our location in New Denver, British Columbia.

New Denver is perfectly located 2.5 hours south of Revelstoke and an hour north of Nelson, British Columbia. The Valhalla Mountains and Southern Selkirks are our backyard with dozens of 5 star ski touring destinations at our doorstep. Classics like Mt Brennan which Chic Scott included in his Summits and Icefields listing of the best ski tours in all of British Columbia and Alberta. There are also more hidden gems some of which require a short 30 minute snowmobile ride for access. I have a fleet of snowmobiles available for you! This is a classic British Columbia ski touring adventure. We can cater to groups of 2-12 at our drive-to destination and can guide, or plan and co-ordinate your daily ski touring destinations. So things have started to stick up above 2000m. Has anyone been up to Mcrea yet this year? I have a course coming up this weekend but will likely head up next week of the temps stay nice and low. If any has beta on the conditions from here to next week, let me know!

Well went and checked out mcrea today. Things are super firm with the recent rains but it's still skiing okay. Fun lines in the area. Skied this guy today.  Middle spine

Well at the risk of just posting into the absis . Condtion update.

Went up frisby ridge. 100cm base at 6400ft ish super suportive thanks to the MASSIVE rain crust i found up there. Had about 20 cms of fluff above it. No real signs of SH and the little i did see was being taken care of by the sun.

Here's a video of the conditions.
