COMP - The Roof of the Rockies
The shimmering of surface hoar in the morning sunshine. The awe of crawling out of the tent at night and realizing the skies are crystal-clear and filled with stars. The warmth of the sun on your frozen face high up among the peaks. The sunset cup of tea and the down booties. The frienships, the whiteouts, the laughs and the postholing. And of course the quick, thrilling descent back to the vehicles. There are many things that make a trip to the Icefield memorable, and just as many reasons I keep going back. I am thankful that photographs can come to the rescue of an overwhelmed outdoor enthusiast!
