Any peaks skiable this time of year?
This past weekend, a buddy of mine and I saw a peak that looked like it had pretty deep snow and started joking that we would ski it this weekend. We're new to the area, but one of the local guys we were with said there's probably about a foot. Was wondering if some peaks actually did have good snow pack to hike/climb up to this time of year. Looking for something in the Banff area, maybe a little over the border into Jasper.

2016-10-18 11:30:19I will be in Banff Oct28 - Nov6, 2016 looking to ski BC or whatever's available. I'd even ski uphill at the resorts if allowed and if there's no natural snow and BC available. Should I pack AT or Tele equipment? What routes for 4 hour day trips are possible within a car ride from Banff.
Any suggestions for hiking with traction devices and boot packing? Huts and ski lift rides would be nice but it seems they'll be closed till resort skiing starts.
