Next seasons gear sneak peek: Ternua makes their North American Debut
While you may think that there are already enough companies making high end backcountry ski apparel, it’s time to make room for one more. This fall Ternua will make it’s North America debut and the sneak peek we had at this winters SIA Show in Denver convinced us that you should get ready for something pretty cool.
Ternua has been designing and making technical outerwear and apparel for nearly 25 years in Europe and Asia. The company has a strong sustainable philosophy which is evident in their drive to be the first and only outdoor brand which will feature recycled down in their product line up. Ternua is calling this 100% eco-friendly recycled down “Neokdun”. Their recycled down comes from apparel and bedding products that have reached the end of their product life cycle, and is 100% natural and biodegradable. Through an eco-friendly process that uses no harmful chemicals, the down is collected and sanitized so that it can be recycled into new down products for Ternua.

ASCENT GTX PRO JACKET:

The Ascent GTX Pro Jacket is Ternua’s new alpinism jacket which uses is made with Gore-tex 3-layer Pro. It’s not only very breathable but also more comfortable thanks in part to articulated elbows and a 3D adjustable hood that can also accommodate a helmet. Double water resistant YKK zippers, adjustable cuffs with Velcro, underarm venting, and four harness/backpack compatible pockets round things out.

The Jannu Jacket features a windproof Pertex Quantum shell with PFOA/PFOS free DWR and Polartec Alpha insulation to provide breathable warmth. Polartec Power Stretch Pro under the arms improves range of motion and provides added ventilation when you work up a sweat. The hood features a neoprene visor and elastic fit to keep the weather out. The Jannu Jacket also has two zipped hand pockets, an adjustable hem, reflective accents and elastic cuffs which include thumb holes. At only 380 grams (size L), it’s not only warm/breathable and compactable but also light weight.
