Backcountry Skiing Canada was in Denver Colorado for the SIA show and talked with the Black Diamond rep (as they distribute Fritschi Diamir products in North America) about the new Fritschi Diamir Zenith 12 Tech Binding which is new for the 2013/2014 season.
Unfortunately the actual Fritschi Diamir Zenith 12 Tech Binding was only at the SIA show for one day before it was sent off to the ISPO show in europe. And, we were one day to late to see it in the flesh but John still gave us the details on it.
The Fritschi Diamir Zenith 12 Tech Binding has a DIN of 12 and is the first tech binding to have a front toe piece with a DIN certifiable toe release. The front toe piece has two arms that can release 11mm in either direction. It also has a front toe piece lock out that will still allow you to release when in walk mode. The total weight per pair is 999 grams. The Fritschi Diamir Zenith 12 Tech Binding will retail for $549 US and will be available in December of 2013.
