Best AT Boot for Wide Foot

  • 2012-12-20 03:17:05

I've recently got into backcountry skiing and have been renting AT boots, but have had trouble finding a good fit. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, and can point me in the right direction for a boot that may solve my problem. I find the common issue is the boot being too tight in the vicinity of my ankle, or just infront of the ankle (towards the toe). In the graphic, the problem area is between the 90mm wide section and the 103mm wide (roughly from the trace). Any information you have would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

You'll probably need a higher volume boot and a great bootfitter.  I bought the Scarpa Meastrales (EEE width) and they're pretty good.  I did have some punching of the shell before I molded the liners.  A good bootfitter is worth his weight in gold.

Scarpa is your best bet! or try Dynafit as they are not bad.
