Sneak Peek: Salomon SHIFT Binding with Greg Hill and Chris Rubens

Backcountry Skiing Canada caught up with Greg Hill and Chris Rubens at the recent Outdoor Retailer Show and they were kind enough to give us a run down of the binding they helped create—the Salomon SHIFT Binding.  
This new S/LAB SHIFT Binding combines the touring efficiency of a pin (low-tech) binding, with the performance of an alpine freeride binding, no compromising. The SHIFT offers up a DIN of 6-13 DIN with 47 mm of elastic travel and weighs in at a respectable 1.7kg/pair. There is 30mm of adjustment range and a climbing riser that provides 10° of angle.

With Multi Norm Certification (MNC) and an adjustable toe pedal, the S/LAB SHIFT is the only hybrid binding that's compatible with all norm boots on the market. Did I mention that they are also TUV Certified?
