Outdoor Research Vesper Insulated Hoodie—Essential Versatility

Outdoor Research’s wind and water-resistant, breathable, and ultralight Vesper Insulated Hoodie is an essential jacket for my wardrobe—simply because it’s incredibly versatile. It’s well suited to all seasons, travel, and a variety of adventure activities, whether cutting through wind on an alpine ridge or fending off the chill on a crisp fall morning dog walk. It layers so well, you can pair it with a base layer and a hard shell for on-the-go warmth while packing light.

This jacket packs small, neatly folding into its left-hand pocket, which doubles as a stuff sack. To pack it, you turn the pocket inside out, stuff the entire hoodie into it, then pull the outer layer of the pocket over the rest of the jacket.

The OR Vesper Insulated Hoodie is made to move, stretching with your movements thanks to a combination of 20D Ripstop Stretch Woven Shell, 20D Stretch Woven Lining, and VerticalX ECO SR insulation. These are recycled Bluesign-approved fabrics demonstrating Outdoor Research’s commitment to sustainability.

A feminine cut ensures the Vesper Insulated Hoodie is both flattering and technical. I can vouch for the fit—it feels great to wear, contouring in all the right places without restricting movement or breathability.
