Nemo Victory Picnic Blanket and Patio Blanket

Nemo has long been one of our favourite gear brands and makes some of the best tents, packs and camp chairs on the market. One item often overlooked from Nemo is their blankets—they have two options the Victory Picnic Blanket and the Victory Patio Blanket. Unlike most blankets, they are not the type that you would use for warmth; they are more of a rugged camping blanket used as a ground cover for outings to the beach, picnics, concerts, and car camping.

With a durable design both the Victory Picnic Blanket and Patio Blanket can take some abuse and their waterproof underside helps keep you dry on wet ground but also resists dirt, sand, and and other debris. The best thing about both of these blankets is that Nemo has designed them to pack down easily with an aluminum closure that doubles as a bottle opener. Simply roll up the Victory Blankets and then secure them with the strap, which also doubles as a carry handle and you have a compact and portable blanket for on-the-go adventures.

Both blankets have built-in corner loops that can be staked down so that they stay put even on windy days. They also have reinforced corner webbing so that they won’t fray or wear and with strategically placed grommets they can be tied or used with poles. Both the Victory Picnic Blanket and Victory Patio Blanket also have a built-in stealth stash pocket to keep valuables secure and out of sight.

      Nemo Victory Blanket

The original  Victory Patio Blanket has a soft flannel top that is comfortable to lay on while the newer Victory Patio Blanket has a durable and snag-free, 100% recycled PFC-free polyester top fabric. It has a thin layer of cushioning that is soft to the touch and of course, the same fully waterproof bottom found on the Victory Patio Blanket.

The Victory Picnic Blanket is sized to fit perfectly with Nemo’s Wagontop four-person tent and their four-person Victory Sunshade, whereas the Victory Patio Blanket is sized to fit their Switch convertible tent as well as the Victory Sunshade.

I’ve been using the Victory Patio Blanket for car camping trips and find it to be super rugged and the waterproof bottom means I can place it on top of any type of ground, wet or dry and not have to worry about it. The top fabric is easy enough to spot clean and provides a comfortable surface on which to relax at the beach. The Victory Patio Blanket is one of my favourite new pieces of gear from Nemo, be sure to check it out.
