DPS Pagoda Tour CFL Skis Sneak Peek - VIDEO

DPS has had great success with their Pagoda Skis since launching them a few years back and new for the 2023/24 ski season is a line of Pagoda Tour CFL or carbon + flax laminate skis. DPS has stuck to their non-compromising mandate of durability, performance, and sustainability while evolving the Pagoda series of skis. To do this DPS has developed a unique new carbon + flax laminate (CFL), which reduces torsional chatter while also maintaining the energy and long-term durability of carbon. By embedding flax plant fibres within their pure carbon construction, DPS has created a unique woven fibre. This high-performance laminate also now uses an Entropy bio-based (25%) epoxy resin with integrated Checkerspot Algal sidewall technology (~ 60% bio-based). Through these changes, DPS has lowered their carbon footprint and has accelerated our journey towards more sustainable skis. The CFL is placed under the skis top sheet and combined with a Paulownia Wood coat and fully wrapped polyurethane sidewalls to keep the skis, light, responsive and damp.

I got to test out the all-new Carbon Pagoda Tour CFL 105 at the recent Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival here at Whitewater Ski Resort a few weeks back and found it to be a well-rounded backcountry ski that is also super fun in bounds. In soft snow, the rocker and mild taper allow you to pivot the skis quickly. The centred stance and 18m turning radius provide a stable platform that is also very agile in most snow conditions. This is a responsive and fun ski that inspires confidence in bounds and out.

All of the Pagoda Tour CFL Skis come with DPS’s Phantom Glide which is a permanent, high-performance base treatment that increases hydrophobicity and improves glide performance across a variety of snow conditions. It provides a predictable, consistent glide over snow while also addressing the environmental impacts of fluorocarbon wax.
