Candide skis sell out in 24 hrs

The legend that is Candide Thovex has finally launched his own ski brand. After leaving Faction Skis in January 2022, the French freeskier has brought out his own line of skis.

      Candide Skis

There were three different skis to choose from:
Candide AK 121 (2000g for the 184 length)
Candide BC 111 (1900g for the 186 length)
Candide Resort 101 (1800g for the 184 length)
The numbers found in the ski's name are, unsurprisingly, the underfoot size of the skis.

We say "were" above because the first drop of skis sold out in 24 hours. Looking at the sizing and rocker profiles, if you were a fan of any of the Faction CT series, then this may be a ski you would be into. We like the idea of a simple three model brand, with clear specific models. The videos that Candide is famous for recently show a crew of friends enjoying ripping around their home resort. If that's how these skis were tested and refined, then we should be looking at a playful charger.

Fingers crossed we'll get our hands on a pair for a full review, but in the meantime, is this the first professional skier to launch their own ski brand? If you can think of another, let us know below.

We built this backcountry skiing community for you, the passionate skier, and hope you enjoy the hard work we put into all the reviews, routes, videos, and posts we create.
